Capturing Your Position
The baseline for short-term trading is a reliable view of the position at the day-ahead stage. SOLV Trader can interact with ETRM systems and our Sentinel Elexon Interface to capture trading data and calculate an asset level position. In parallel we ingest pricing data from third party sources, including carbon and gas prices, to calculate SRMC and Spark Spread based on bespoke pricing algorithms. Availability data is acquired from your asset control system to complete a 3600 view of your portfolio which is presented in a clear, intuitive UI.
Formulating Day Ahead Auction Bids
SOLV Trader uses position, price, and availability data to construct day-ahead auction bids reflecting EPEX ETS and Nordpool N2EX standards. By examining the spread of volumes and prices available, SOLV Trader aggregates volumes into pricing bands based on configurable margin thresholds. Once bids have been formulated, prices and volumes can be submitted by auction deadlines.
Following each auction, results are captured and aggregated to BMU level to create an input to SOLV Scheduler where dispatch profiles and BM pricing are updated before submission to NGESO via seamless integration with Sentinel EDT. A feedback loop to your ETRM ensures the integrity of your position and provides the data required to update your ECVN submissions.
The starting point for intraday trading is an up to date position, which is refreshed following each day-ahead auction. Once your position has been established, SOLV Trader provides a baseline for continuous trading. Integration to M7, via our EPEX certified API, allows for the acquisition of market data providing a dynamic view of market depth, while the decision support algorithm in SOLV Trader highlights trading opportunities that will enable you to capture value. Trade execution is always in the hands of the trader.
As trades are executed, SOLV Trader automatically refreshes your position and updates both your ETRM and dispatch systems. As with the day-ahead process, aggregation to BMU level and integration with SOLV Scheduler ensures that your PN, availability and pricing data are refreshed in line with the dynamic characteristics of your assets.
As more participants enter the BM and flexibility is delivered in a myriad of different ways pricing becomes more dynamic and conditions change more often and more dramatically. SOLV Scheduler enables you to ensure that your Bid Offer prices reflect the changing status of your assets over time and the pricing offered by your competitors. Using SOLV Scheduler, you can build up a generation and consumption profile by inputting a series of instructions to form the basis of your PN while respecting plant dynamics. MEL and MIL values can be based on availability forecast data imported from SOLV Calendar, your own systems using the Sentinel API, or values entered via the UI. Bid Offer prices are assigned according to the changing status of the plant and pricing libraries facilitate rapid price updates.
Integration with Sentinel EDT means your pricing is always reflective of both your capabilities and prevailing market conditions. And, while SOLV Scheduler can automate pricing using the library function, it also provides scope for traders to fine-tune prices based on their instinct and experience to ensure your assets are perfectly positioned to benefit from balancing instructions.

Integration with your control system via the Sentinel API ensures accurate, timely dispatch to complete the end-to-end process.
SOLV Calendar brings together the ability to model availability based on a configurable range of factors specific to your portfolio and integrates the determination of changes that are notifiable under applicable transparency regulations including REMIT, ETR and OC2, automating disclosures based on prevailing rules for each applicable code.
The calculation of availability based on asset dynamics, outage plans and other external factors such as weather conditions play a major role in ensuring that you have a handle on the availability and flexibility you can offer to the market for each period. A bespoke model embedded in the application ensures that the impact of these inputs is interpreted correctly, and that the resultant availability data can be utilised by Sentinel, either as EDT submission data or as an input to SOLV Scheduler. Depending on the scale of your assets you may also need to make disclosures under market transparency rules including REMIT, ETR and OC2.
